Sometime I thought it depend on niche. It little bit easy for tutorial niche blogger to sell a book but it somewhat harder to sell a software for software niche blog. I see many blogger earning good with affiliate program but known of my fellow blogger earning good on affiliate section on their tech niche blog. So, I think along with above described factor niche also carry some value.

Thanks for this helpful tip on affiliate programs. It’d be quite more helpful if you could identify some useful affiliate programs which you could suggest to other blogger as well.
I use WP125 plugin and also Google Shortlink Service to track and if you are using a lot of affiliate, it is the best way to remember link of each program.

Some nice points you listed above. I tend to set up my affiliate programs and sometimes forget about them totally. Thats bad and I do know that. Maybe I should go through them all and see what I can do to enhance my earnings and all.
