If you are a tester than you have to think beyond bookish knowledge. For a tester it is required that he should be troubleshooter, creative and explorer. Good testers love to break rules and try hard to crash the application. They feel very satisfied when they find good bugs in complex applications.

Here are some tips to test application effectively:

1. Know your application: Before starting any testing, take all the information about the application to be tested. Try to involve in all process of software development life cycle from requirement to testing .Be an explorer.

2. Be positive: You have to make your mind set that application or software has lots of bugs and you can find out the bugs.

3. Test cases: Prepare your test cases in requirement or design phase, it will help you to test the requirement properly and you can provide test cases to developers so that they can make more accurate application.

4. Know priority: Write test cases for valid conditions requirements. Once, you are done with valid conditions test other less prior conditions.

5. Be diplomatic: There is a cold war between testers and developers. Be diplomatic while you communicate with developers. Make sure to use written communication with verbal. Face to face communication will help you to resolve problems quickly.

6. Persuasive: Tester should not only find bug, they should be able to define why it is necessary to fix the found bug and if possible try to advice how to fix the bug.

7. Keep trying: Keep trying to improve your testing skill, think creatively and perform test continue sly. Keep giving challenges to yourself for trying new testing methods.
