How PR and SEO can work together

Big brands like Google, Coca cola or Sun Microsystems are very successful companies still then invest millions of money on increasing sales, improving their image and product awareness. They hire Public Relation Professionals also called as PR to market their company. The reason behind hiring public relation professionals is competition. Every time a new company launches its product, PR has to get in action to attract the customer to buy their product. Consumer will surely purchase the product which is in front of their eyes. That’s why PR is important for big brands, to increase the awareness about their product. For e.g. if Google stops PR promotions, Bing will surely come up with bang.

PR&SEO

PR works more accurately when it is linked with SEO. Earlier I used to think Search Engine Optimization and Public Relations to be unlinked fields. The reason why I thought it was, SEO is always following links and PR is always following brand awareness of the company. When I did a research I found some facts about how a company really works to market and brand its image or product, I understood that branding is more successful when Search Engine Optimization and Public Relations work together.

When consumer search for any product or company on search engines, company uses SEO to make sure that their company’s website or blog articles related to their company makes it to top of the search engine. If the links which are appearing on search engine are promoting some negative feedback about the company or product, then PR will have to suffer. Thus, SEO have to take care that only articles or comments containing positive feedback about the company should appear on first page of the search engine. Of course, this should not be done in unethical way.

SEO can also help contents published as a part of PR to the web, should be easy to find while search. Some of the PR content that can be optimized are press releases, online newsrooms, corporate blogs, newsletters and

The basic problem of SEO is to get good quality of links. If PR of the company are providing SEO the best quality links , then SEO will surely be in benefit .When Public Relation Professional publish news about the company or product, it spreads like a forest fire and stays for long, which in turn helps SEO to get good amount of traffic as well as good quality links.

Good public relation can also benefit search engine optimization. When a company has good reputation in public, people are more willingly post links to it on their websites or blogs, especially government agencies are more suitable to place links to another entity on their website with good reputation. For e.g.: If a company like Pepsi start its own blog , everyone will be linking to such huge brand names , in turns which will give Pepsi’s blog a higher ranking.

Thus, there should be an incorporated approach of SEO and PR and work as a team to brand the company and get enormous traffic.

Whenever they start thinking about a product, the most shouted brand comes across the mind and that’s what PR and marketing people do. I totally agree with your thought on PR and SEO.   11. After reading the Title, I was of the view that you may be talking about PR i.e. Page Rank, but you are actually talking about Public Relations. Thanks quite an interesting piece of Combination. Good SEo strategy may have a nice effect on the PR of the Company.
