Java Script is a scripting language which is used to enable web authors to design interactive sites. It was developed by Netscape. It is compatible with HTML source code and thus web designer can use JavaScript to add variety to their site. It is can be used by everyone without purchasing a license. It is compatible with all recent browser like Netscape, IE (partially called as Jscript).

JavaScript is not a vital thing that should be activated in your browser, to access some basic content and dynamic content. They are very useful and user-friendly. It can be used to design small games or small scripts or dynamic content.

For Enabling JavaScript on IE:

  1. Open Tools menu in your browser.
  2. Go to Internet Options and click Security tab.
  3. Click on Custom level and move down to Scripting.
  4. Enable Active Scripting.
  5. Refresh the page once, to use JavaScript.

Enabling JavaScript for Opera:

  1. Open Tools menu in your browser.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Go to Advanced tab and click content.
  4. Select the check box of Enable JavaScript and click ok.
  5. Refresh the page once, to use JavaScript.

Enabling JavaScript for Netscape Navigator:

  1. Open Edit Menu in your browser.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Go to Advanced.
  4. Select Scripts and Plugins.
  5. Select the Enable JavaScript box and click OK.
  6. Refresh the page once, to use JavaScript.

Enabling JavaScript for Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Open Tools menu in your browser.
  2. Choose Options.
  3. Go to Content.

1. Change the Function of the Enter Key:

Normally, when you press the Enter key, Excel goes to the next cell down. The Enter key can be made to move to in excel-tip-1any direction (up, down, left, and right) or keep it unchecked if you want to be in the same cell after hitting Enter key.

To change the options follow the steps:
a. Go to Tools
b. Select Options.
c. Select the Edit tab.
d. There are four values from which you can select, right, left, up and down. Change the value in the dropdown for Move selection after Enter direction setting or uncheck the box to remain in the same cell.

2.Navigating around in excel sheet:

You do not have to use the mouse to navigate to a specific cell. You can use the arrow keys (left, up, down, right), and PgUp and PgDn keys.
Enter key: It will take you down one cell.
Tab key: It will move you to the next cell to the right.
Ctrl + Home key: It will move you to the first cell.
Ctrl + End key: It will move you to the last cell.

3. Entering a formula or function:
Formula and functions begin with a equal sign. Entering equal and then writing the formula will help you in performing operation on the cells.

4. Inserting a row and column: To insert a row or column in the sheet, click on the letter (shown on the left that is number, and on the top it would be alphabet) it would be for inserting a column, or number for inserting a row. After clicking on the number or letter, click the right mouse button and select Insert from the menu option.
