5 Tools to Check Your Blog Loading Time
I discussed in my last article about the factors which slow down your blog to load. Here, I am going to share few popular tools which can be used to test loading time (page load test) of your blog. Since Google introduced Site Performance feature in there Google Webmasters Tools it is now very important that we optimize our blog’s loading time since talks are going on internet about Site Performance as one of the factors in getting the higher PR.
1. Pingdom Page Load test tool: This is most popular tool it test all objects like images, CSS, flash files, JavaScripts, Frames. The load time is shown with time bars and list is generally in hierarchy order. Each test shows statistics about total number of objects, total load time and size of all objects.
2. Uptrends Page Load test tool: This is again a full page-test tool and test all objects such as images, CSS, flash files and also third party advertisers. All the results are provided in form of time bars.
3. Submit Page Load test tool: This tool helps you to test objects such as images, CSS, Flash files, advertisers and modem speed. All the results are provided in the form of list. It gives the reason because of which your blog is taking time to load.
4. Website Optimization Speed test tool: It again gives you details of all objects while testing your blog but without visual graph. It gives you results in file size and let you know the reason why your blog is loading slowly.
5. Link Vendor Page Load test tool: While testing your blog it gives you the list of how many objects load up like images, CSS and many more. It also gives you different loading time according to your modem connections.
Hope all these tools will help you to check loading time of your blog and after resolving any loading problems you would be able to make your visitors happy.

Hi Ruchi,
Website load time is the most important thing for any site owner. It doesn’t matter how good content you have on your site, if your site is not loading within 3 – 4 seconds of span then visitor may try other options. I prefer Pingdom, but these applications shows the load time based on moderate Internet Connection speed. One should check recently added “Google Webmaster Tool” labs – Page Performance tab where Google shows the load time bit higher than these services. I think Google is checking the load-time on bit slower connections as well and shows the average time. So I would recommend to get load time under around 4 – 5 seconds on Pingdom and 6 seconds on Google webmaster.
Thanks for sharing this list of other services as well. Nice collection and post as always.

Personally I like SubmitPlus Free Load Test tool. But if you could get your hands on LoadRunner, there isn’t anything like it when it comes to test your blog’s loading time…

I really appreciate what you post here, very insightful and intelligent. One issue though, I’m running Opera with Debian and parts of your current site structure are a little wonky. I recognize it really is not really the typical setup, however it’s always a thing to watch out for. I hope that helps and keep up the high quality publishing.
