If we love blogging, we would love to measure our site performance. Some metrics which every blogger must know:

1. Number of Pages indexed: You should have more pages in your blog (especially for small blogs) to get indexed. More pages you will have, you rate of index would be more. You can find out how many pages of your blog are indexed in Google, try this out site: your_blog_name. Google will display the pages which are indexed.

2. Cache date of your pages in Google: Google saves many pages in cache and if your cache date is older than 1 month then it might affect your success and can low number of readers of your blog. So, check the cache of your site regularly.

3. Bot visits: You should be aware that Google, Yahoo or other bots(web robots) visiting frequently or not? If you posted a new article, you should check that bot indexed it or not. If you are using WordPress then you can check your spider visit in visitor details using the Wassup Plugin. You should also take care when bot visit your blog last time (since once incident happend with me my host blocked a bot by mistake , because of a software running which thought that bot is some kind of a virus, but now the problem is resolved.)

4. Back links: All back links are not important, you should be aware about quality and number of back links. Check whether the linking page is of old domain or not? What the rank of the linking page? It same goes with numbers of back link, you should keep track and compare increase or decrease in back links numbers, every week or month. I prefer to compare with last week.

5. Page ranking: You should be aware of your page ranking. Some prefer Google page ranking, some think Alexa to be reliable and some don
